Microsoft Outlook 2010 | For 50 PC MAK Volume
Microsoft Outlook 2010 is a complex personal information management tool. It comes as part of the Microsoft Office suite and can be used for both personal and professional use. Although often used primarily as an email application, it also includes a calendar, contact manager, task manager, note-taking, journal, and web browsing.
It can be used as a standalone application or it can work with Microsoft SharePoint Server and Microsoft Exchange for multiple users in an organization. Examples are shared mailboxes and calendars, Exchange public folders, SharePoint lists, and meeting calendars. Additionally, Microsoft has released mobile applications for most mobile platforms, including iOS and Android. Custom software that works with Outlook and Office components can also be developed with Microsoft Visual Studio. Also, Windows Phone devices can sync almost all Outlook data with Outlook Mobile.
Microsoft Outlook 2010 includes a wide range of new features and capabilities to help you stay connected with people and better manage your time and information.
Tape
The ribbon is part of the Microsoft Office user interface and is introduced into Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. It is designed to help you quickly find the commands needed to complete a task. Commands are organized in groups that are grouped under tabs. In Outlook 2010, the ribbon has replaced the previous menus in the main Outlook window. Additionally, the ribbon can be customized to include custom tabs that can be customized to best suit your work style.
Behind the scenes
When the File menu is selected in Outlook 2010, you will be transported to Backstage view, which hides your active Inbox or Calendar in favor of a full-screen set of account controls. This is the standard procedure for all Office 2010 applications.
Quick steps
The new Outlook Ribbon is validated by introducing Quick Steps, which are a mix of custom ribbon buttons, Outlook rules, and macros built into one. Quick Steps allow multiple actions to be applied to a message or appointment by simply clicking a button in the Quick Steps menu. If the mail is organized in folders, the quick steps are a real time saver; Items can be marked as read and moved in specified subfolders with a single click. The ability to create custom quick steps opens up a world of efficient possibilities for email enthusiasts.
Conversation View
Outlook 2010 automatically groups related email responses into conversations, similar to Gmail. Conversations are described in the inbox by a gray arrow / chevron box. Above, you can see a collapsed conversation on the left and an expanded conversation, exposing the related reply messages, on the right. Conversation view saves a lot of space on your inbox screen and keeps email intuitively organized. Additionally, Outlook 2010 offers an Ignore Conversation option. When you select Ignore conversation, all subsequent replies to the mail chain remain hidden in the conversation view and do not generate new mail notifications from Outlook.
Social Connector
The Outlook Social Connector imports information from social networks into Outlook 2010, which provides a centralized environment for viewing the status messages it generates both inside and outside of Outlook. Microsoft released a software development kit for the social connector, which means that a connector can be written to send status data to Outlook 2010.
The social connector is an import tool, which means that status messages cannot be updated from Outlook 2010, it is only read through a view called «the people pane».
Versions of the social connector have been re-ported to Outlook 2003 and 2007, but it was specially designed for Outlook 2010 and to connect to SharePoint 2010. An upgrade to Outlook 2010 has to be done if you want to keep Outlook as the backbone of your Consumer Electronics. social data.
